Hello There!

I am Nina Guadalupe Cawley. I was born in London, and grew up in California. I have studied fashion design at Santa Monica College (CA), and Parsons (NY). I am currently based in Los Angeles, working as a freelance creative designer and as a hatter at Busto & Sun Custom Hats.

I have experience on apparel design teams, ranging from ideation and sketching to final fittings and production management. My early employment consisted of retail management and visual merchandising, commissioned murals, and shop windows. My experience as a hatter, has taught me the value of collaborating with clients, and the irreplaceability of artisan craftsmanship.

I am detail oriented, and my love of beautiful intricacies led me to embroidery and needlepoint. My Granny, another fierce polymath, is definitely the spark that inspired me to pick up disciplines like sewing, pattern making, embroidery, bargello, floristry, and painting.

I have been raised in a creative family, with London and Los Angeles as a backdrop. California has given me a close relationship with nature which has evolved into exploration of up-cycled resources and natural materials, as well as being a constant source of inspiration. I am also inspired by the long history of music, fashion, and art in London.

My goal is to apply all of my experience and passions to each new project, and always continue creating.
